The short version

This page says what Quiny keeps, why, and who else handles it. The short version: we keep what we need to build your apps, we don't sell it, and we don't show you ads.

What we keep

  • Your account: your email address, your password, stored scrambled (hashed) so nobody can read it, and your country, which we work out from your browser's time zone and language.
  • Your conversations: everything you and Quiny write in each app's chat, and the questions and answers along the way.
  • Your apps: their code, their version history, and the data in each app's own database.
  • Business facts: what Quiny learns about your business while making an app, kept with that app only. You can see and delete them in the app's Settings.
  • Your phone, when you connect it: the model and region of each phone that opens your app's Preview link, and screenshots of your app taken while Quiny works on it. Screenshots are private, and you can see every one on your app's Screenshots tab.
  • Keys you give us: passwords and keys for other services your app uses, kept secret and used only by your app.
  • Usage: how much building each app has used, so we can keep to budgets and set fair prices.

Countries and regions only go into our own count of where Quiny is used. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't sell your data.

Who helps run Quiny

These services handle your data for us, only to run Quiny:

  • Convex hosts this website, our database, and each app's own database.
  • Anthropic provides the AI model. Your messages and your app's code are sent to it so it can answer and write code.
  • GitHub stores each app's code in a private repository.
  • Amazon Web Services runs the machines that build your apps, and stores screenshots and logs.
  • An email provider sends account and publishing emails.

When you publish, your app goes to Apple and Expo through the accounts you connect, and their own privacy policies apply.

The people who use your app

Their accounts and data live in your app's own database, kept apart from every other app. You decide what your app collects, and you're responsible for telling them, including with a privacy policy if your app needs one. Quiny can help you write it if you ask.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete an app, it disappears from your account, but we keep its code, conversation and Business facts for a while so it can be restored if you ask. Screenshots are deleted automatically.

What you control

  • See and delete the Business facts Quiny keeps about each app, in that app's Settings.
  • Delete an app you no longer want.
  • Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and data to be deleted.

What Quiny stores in your browser is on the cookies page.
